Application:

     The new drug for treating schizophrenia, lumateperone tosylate, has the activity of a central nervous system (CNS) 5-hydroxytryptamine 5-HT2A receptor antagonist. When combined with a postsynaptic antagonist of the CNS dopamine D2 receptor, lumateperone tosylate plays an important role in mediating the damage of glutamate signaling channels in schizophrenia patients. Rumafenone can regulate serotonin by inhibiting the serotonin transporter protein (SERT) and acts as a 5-HT2A receptor antagonist for the treatment of behavioral disorders in schizophrenia and other neurological disorders.

Market Application

1. Schizophrenia: Approved for the treatment of adult schizophrenia, improving positive, negative symptoms and cognitive function, with low metabolic side effects (no significant weight gain, less impact on blood sugar and blood lipids). 2. Bipolar Depression: Used as monotherapy for adult bipolar I depression, effectively relieving depressive symptoms and having good tolerance. 3. Other Potential Uses: Clinical trials for major depressive disorder (MDD) and other mental illnesses are ongoing, and it is expected to expand its indications in the future.
